Rates of diabetes-related amputation vary across US

Rates of foot and leg amputations among Americans with diabetes may vary widely according to where they live, a new study suggests. About 26 million Americans have diabetes, and an estimated 65,000 had a lower limb amputation in 2006, the most recent year with available data.
